MetLife Jr. Software Platform Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, customization and enhancement of Salesforce applications based on business and technical requirements.
- Build and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL and declarative platform capabilities.
- Support Salesforce configuration while minimizing unnecessary platform customization.
- Collaborate with senior developers and team members to implement features and resolve defects.
- Perform basic Salesforce administration activities including user setup, roles, profiles and permission sets.
- Generate reports and maintain dashboards.
- Support routine Salesforce data updates and data-quality activities.
- Troubleshoot Salesforce functionality, access and performance issues.
- Support data imports, exports, validation and cleansing activities.
- Assist with Salesforce integrations with other enterprise applications.
- Follow coding standards, security guidelines and governance processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration details, support guides and release records.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver Salesforce solutions.
- Continuously improve knowledge of Salesforce technologies and emerging capabilities such as Agentforce.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 1–4 years of experience in software development, CRM platforms or enterprise application support.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce development and customization.
- Knowledge of Apex, Aura, Lightning Web Components (LWC) and SOQL.
- Understanding of Salesforce declarative features such as Flow, validation rules, reports and dashboards.
- Basic understanding of Salesforce administration including users, profiles, permission sets and roles.
- Understanding of Salesforce security model and security principles.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle concepts including testing, deployment and defect resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the Salesforce ecosystem.
- Salesforce Certification is required.
Preferred Skills
- Salesforce Administrator Certification.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I (PD1) and Platform Developer II (PD2) certifications.
- Exposure to Salesforce Sales Cloud or Service Cloud.
- Internship, academic project or professional experience supporting Salesforce implementations.
- Knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD or release management practices.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Understanding of enterprise support and digital transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of Salesforce Agentforce is an added advantage.
